Vuela Grand Opening

It was a pleasure to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening of the Vuela Building in Wilsonville. The event was well attended and showcased the continued growth and investment taking place across our community.

I was honored to join Wilsonville Mayor Shawn O'Neil, Wilsonville City Council President Caroline Berry and Councilor Anne Shevlin, State Representative Andrea Salinas, Senator Courtney Neron-Misslin, State Representative Sue Rieke-Smith, Metro Councilor Gerritt Rosenthal, and representatives from the Palindrome Group in recognizing this important housing milestone. The project reflects the strong partnerships and forward-looking development that continue to strengthen Wilsonville’s housing opportunities, economy, and community character.

Project Overview

The Vuela Transit-Oriented Development, located next to the Wilsonville Transit Center, began the development process in 2022, broke ground in 2024, and opened its doors in the second quarter of 2026.

  • 121 affordable housing units serving households earning between 30% and 80% of Area Median Income

  • Ground-floor space that includes a SMART welcome center, a new home for Wilsonville Community Sharing, and a coffee/tap house and community gathering space

Tours during the event highlighted the thoughtful integration of community-centered design and modern living spaces within an affordable housing development. You can read more about this project here.
